On Easter Sunday Carterton FC held their annual Easter Funday, which also included the official opening of their new stand, match day toilets and mini soccer storeroom. The day started off with a friendly game of football between Carterton's Ladies and U15's Girls, which was very well contested and finished with the scores level at 2 - 2. An Easter Egg hunt was held for the youngsters and before the start of the second game, which was to be our annual Chairman's Select XI v our U16's.

The new stand and building were officially opened. Carterton's Chairman said "this day has been long in coming, it is a culmination of a lot of people putting in a lot of hard work over two years to raise the £45000 required to allow all this to come to fruition. I would like to take this opportunity to them all, along with the help of the Oxfordshire Football Association and the financial support of the Football Foundation and Carterton Town Council.

As in the previous 3 years, the U16's proved to good for the Select XI and ran out 5 - 1 winners. There's always next year!

On Thursday 1st April Carterton FC entertained two touring schools football teams from Mafikeng, North West Province, South Africa.

Mafikeng, were touring the South East of England and were looking for a couple games of football, Carterton were able to host them and played two games consecutively with our U15's kicking off at 5.30, followed by our U16's at 7.30. Though the weather was very English, wet and windy! The South Africans thoroughly enjoyed their visit and the football. Both games were well contested and played in a good spirit. Though both scorelines flattered Carterton, the experience for all the players was great, enjoying two completely different cultures and styles of football.
