WELCOME TO THE  CARTERTON FOOTBALL CLUB LADIES AND GIRLS FIVE/SIX-A-SIDE FESTIVAL 2008

A MESSAGE FROM THE GIRLS COORDINATOR

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome old friends and new to Carterton Football Clubs Summer Tournament. This year has seen many more clubs offering 6 a-sides , therefore a greater choice of venues, so we Thank you for your support.

At Carterton the girl’s teams are still growing in numbers with in excess of 80 girls registered with the club. Our U10’s have had a fantastic season in the OMGFL winning the League and Cup. Another team to have good fortune was the U13’s winning their Cup Final. The remainder of girl’s teams at Carterton, although not as successful, have produced some really good football and hopefully a platform to build on for next season.

The success of the teams is down to hard work from Players, Coaches, Managers and above all, the support from the parents. Three teams this season went on tours, which is a great team building process and again our U10’s were winners. We at Carterton are fortunate to have some great playing surfaces for our teams to play on, so credit goes to the Club and the Ground Staff for their hard work.

This week ends event has attracted more than 40 different clubs with over 100 teams taking part from as many as 9 different Counties. As we are all aware a tournament takes a lot of organising over the months before and over the week end itself. I would like to thank all the volunteers for helping out as without them this type of event wouldn’t get off the ground.

Last but by no means least the sponsors of which again we couldn’t be without. A big thank you to each and every one of them, for sponsoring an age group trophy at the tournament and the kit/tracksuit sponsors for their support over the season.

Finally I hope win or lose each and every player, parent, family member or friend enjoys our tournament and we will see you back again next year. Thank you for your support.
